Im just checking if they are any members here that are own or did own a Henry in 45/70 .. Im considering purchasing a 45/70 .. Im have a wee bit of a hard time snagging a JM Marlin Guide Gun in really nice shape at a decent price..
From what I have hear Henry makes a good rifle and have excellent CS ..
But first hand experience and knowledge is hard to beat...

Mine is a case colored model,I love it,it shoots nice, feels nice, and is pleasingly accurate.I guess if I had any complaint it is a bit heavy but a light weight would probably have more recoil.Overall great gun,I'm happy

Yep, would have to agree with bgl0b6. Henry's made way better than newer Marlin's.

Loving my BBS .45 Colt so far. I’d roll a Henry
.45-70 in a heartbeat if I didn’t already have a Ruger #1.

JM’s may be fine. New Marlins may be fine.
But the new Marlin .45 Colts I looked at last year did a great job of selling me a Henry. FWIW, I started out wanting a Marlin.

I have two Henry 45-70 rifles, the H010 and the H010CC with the longer octagon bbl.

Both are smooth, good shooting rifles that have great fit and finish.

I have owned Marlins since the 70s. The Henry rifles I have are fully their equals in all practical matters.

My $0.02

Will the Henry handle the same pressure as the Marlin?

From everything I have read, yes.
But your shoulder may have a lower pressure limit than the rifle.....
