That is a big cow. Do you have any idea how old she is? As heavy duty as she is, she is probably not too old.

How old this cow is I can't really say. Teeth are worn down a bit indicating an older animal. Also the fact she had no calf says she did not mate last summer or she did not conceive.. Another sign of an older animal. Still have a fair amount of work to do. Did have a bit of meat last night just to see. Was excellent. In all my years of taking elk in this area I have never had a bad tasting elk. Must be the the food.

Sorry to say it is a private land tag I get each year for my land. One of the perks of owning land here. But my place is for sale.......

You are a lucky man. I'd buy it except for one small problem - I'm broke. Awesome elk. I hunted out your way a few years ago but didn't get an elk. It is a beautiful area. I am starting to put plans together to get back out there in 2020.
