The AR-15 rifle was way ahead of its time. At least the design was. Very space aged concept compared to what was then available offering light weight, superior human ergonomics and accuracy.

It took years for manufacturing techniques and construction materials to finally catch up to create what is now a very reliable accurate weapon used by many nations.

Hero's steam engine

It worked, but no use for it was figured out.

Communism in the USA , it took a long time to become popular , knowingly or unknowingly it is now popular .

The Constitution, it's importance becoming evident with each day .

Then there is the woman , who`d a thought a rib would become so important ?

Not to mention the 45/70 , a hard act to follow

I’ve worked on a couple LeTourneau offshore drilling rigs.

All electric. Jacking system. Cantilever skidding amd cranes all electric.

Cranes were No speed demons, esp on 4 line, but hell for stout.

Not all will understand this, but the Lincoln SA200 welder. By the late 1940's they had become a DC engine driven welder that to this day, in my opinion, cannot be replicated in terms of functionality, reliability and simplicity. 70 plus years later they're still out there by the thousands pounding rods day in day out.

The heater system in the Nash cars. The old system was a hot water core with a fan blowing air thru it. Us northern boys sure liked the new system in the Nash cars.

It also made it possible to defrost the windshield instead of hand scrapers trying to keep a hole clean to see out of.

The 1920 Savage. It was a mountain rifle ahead of its time.

The way the doors and hinges and windows worked together and sealed put the Pintos and Vegas to shame. And they where smart enough to understand a little bigger engine is usually better than a small one. Ive often seen bigger engines have better economy simply because they’ve got enough power to get the job done without needing to run hi RPMs like the little 4 bangers.
No, I never had one. First wife had a 74 Hornet with a straight 6, same as the Pacer. It wasn’t a performance car like my big block Monte Carlo, but it ran cheap and it was dependable.
The. Vegas and Pintos took a couple years to become dependable. Them little Ramblers got it right the first time.
