I could use some help as a friend is looking to part with a gen 1 titanium 30-06. He says it is unfired and I suspect this is correct. I have always wanted one of these but the price was a little steep for me but now have the funds. When I look on gun broker I don't see any 30-06 that have sold but rather the holy grail 260 and a few 270. What is a fair price for these now? I was thinking about giving him $1500 but don't want to cheat him. Also if anybody has one in a 30-06 how is the recoil in such a lightweight gun and accuracy as was thinking about a sheep gun with her. Thanks in advance for any and all help

$1500-$1600 about right. Last ‘06 on GB was similar condition and went for a little north of $1600.

I think $1500 would be a 'good friend' price for unfired condition.

I had a 30-06 briefly. Recoil with 180 accubonds was tolerable. Not something I'd want to shoot 20 rounds in a row from a bench, but not something I'd develop a flinch with as a hunting rifle.

$1,500 is where they are at right now for a 30-06, short action calibers are bringing more. They have been going for $100 more or $100 less depending on the day on Gunbroker the last 6 months or so. I have been looking for one for the last 6 months or so and I just found one in the same condition and that is what I paid. $1,500 would be spot on.

I had that very rifle for many years. Recoil was sharp but not terrible. Consistent accuracy required more practice than other rifles (for me). The light weight really magnified every little part of bad shooting form and/or habits.

My rifle's POI went for a walk when the barrel heated, which is not a problem for hunting.

At the range, cycle another rifle or two into the shooting lineup while the barrel cools.

I have the exact version and love mine

Factory accuracy so far is 5/8” at 100 yards

Recoil isn’t bad unless you rattle off 40-60 rounds.

Not that I have with a single rifle (usually take 2-3 lightweights when I go to the range).

$1500-1600 is a good price.

If I had one to sell.....$1500 would be good. If I was buying, I wouldn't give over $1200. I'd give a little more for a short action.

I had one, ran 180 Accubonds at 2800. Recoil was manageable.

Sold it after this hunt when I built a 7-08 and 338-06 Ackley.

I bought one in 270 win last year about this time. Paid 1500 shipped. I was used, but like new, and came with the original box. I haven’t found a load yet that is much under 1”, but I’ve pointed it at 4 deer this year from 75 to 307 yards, and every single one dropped where it stood. Gonna be hard for me to find another rifle that’s as easy to grab when I open the safe.

Oh, and believe it or not, deer bite. Fairly hard.

With the quality of the Fieldcraft SA's and the fact that you can find them from $1150 to $1300 to even $1500, I'd be hard pressed to ever buy another Remington 700 Ti. But I've had several and I understand why some are still drawn to them.

There are better mousetraps these days. I’ve not pulled the trigger on it in years, but it’s still one of my favs!!!

I have them in 260, 7.08, 308, 270, 30.06 and 7SAUM. I have paid anywhere from $1000 up to $1500 depending on condition and various extras included. I love them and they would be among the last of my valuables to go in the event of financial catastrophe. I can never ignore an add that's selling one. I also have a 2nd Gen Ti in 7mm RemMag that I like a lot.

I bought the 270 for a grand from Cabela's in Grand Junction, Colorado about 10 years ago. It was a little battle scared and had the barrel threaded and a muzzle brake installed. It shot Hornady Superformance 140 gr SST's into itty bitty groups at 200 yards. I put a Kahles AH 3-9x42 with TDS reticle in Talley's on it, replaced the brake with a thread protector, and proceeded to kill many deer and antelope with it. I added a Harvester 30 suppressor a couple years back and it has become my go to rifle when I'm hunting deer sized game in wooded areas and don't feel the need for my long range rifles.I plan to try the Hornady Precision Hunter 145 gr ELD-X soon.

Recoil has never been a issue on these rifles for me, unlike my NULA in 300 WinMag. It will jar your teeth shooting Hornady's Superformance 180 gr SST's.
I believe you would find the 30.06 to be plenty managable.

Good Luck, and if you don't want the rifle I do!
Jeff

I have bought a few both new and like new, $1500 unfired is reasonable price, had it been fired but very good I would go $1250-$1350.
