OP high_country_ Campfire Outfitter Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 9,209 E. WA / N. ID	I just bought a rig in Spokane that is in 308 win with cl Lambert on the side of a custom tube. It's a c series remington 700 in a Mc millan a3 wearing a pre swfa ss10. It's a nice collection of parts if nothing else. Does that ring a bell for anyone? Last edited by high_country_; 12/22/19. Only other Lambert I knew of in Alaska was the artist on the Kenai Peninsula that walked off and disappeared.

C185 New Member C Joined: Nov 2015 Posts: 2	Slim Lambert was a gunsmith in Nome, Alaska for many years. I want to say he closed his shop down in the late 90's. He moved down south and I heard he has passed away. He worked on several of my rifles and did good work. Mike

He used to fly to villages with a fur buyer and spread word that he’d buy old guns, come back next month and load them up. Had mountains of actions for projects from village guns with rotten bores. There was one about the two of them and another bud going on a fishing trip. My pard, who’s not a fisherman, caught and released a state record sized grayling and Slim smiled but didn’t mention it until later.

I usually buy actions to spin up my own rigs....but given the colorful life of Slim and the fact that it's a 308 and should last forever, I'll leave this one alone. I have a "Lambert" Model Seven, Shilen barreled and chambered to 358 Winchester with brazed NECG sights on it. As promised, it's s certainly been much more accurate than necessary for the moose and bear it's dispatched. Sometimes, the air you 'let in'matters less than the air you 'let out'.
