3 miles in pretty deep snow, wife asked if we should bring snowshoes- me "we won't need them" her later " I told you so"

5 slushy miles with Tiny Elvis; we're looking at single digits this weekend

4 miles on much less slushy trails this evening

6 miles this morning with Tiny E

strength train this afternoon

I await round two of snow this evening (and round 3 Friday)

going to try and split the storms in get in an overnight snowshoe trip in the mountains tomorrow

15 miles on snowshoes w/ a 25-ish lb pack; got crazy cold last night- a few degrees below 0- a wee bit early for October!

well I'm counting this as a workout- 12"+ of snow w/ a layer of about 3/4" of slush at the bottom- 1.5 hours!

a little snowshoeing this afternoon with my youngest daughter and Tiny Elvis, 3 miles in 2'+ of snow

4 pretty tough snowshoe miles with Tiny Elvis, they had to tougher yet for him

3 miles snowshoeing this evening with my daughter and Tiny E; we got above freezing today!

4 mile hill workout w/ Tiny E- on snowshoes!

5 miles (to the top of Mt Helena) with my wife, daughter and TE)- no snowshoes, the main trails are getting packed in enough to not need them (we did wear spikes though)

3 miles with Tiny Elvis this morning, walked my rifle for 4 miles this evening

loooong day on the mountain yesterday-12 miles,started in headlamps and finished in headlamps; chased some elk from here to kingdom come- they seem to do better with a foot plus of snow and blowdown!

nice 3 mile recovery hike with Tiny Elvis, Tiny E broke the 1000 mile mark today- not all easy miles

9 miles walking my rifle today; saw a raghorn bull at first light glassing, watched him bed in some nasty timber and couldn't make a play on him as the snow was so crunchy

4 miles with Tiny Elvis this morning; going to walk the rifle some this afternoon/evening- hoping the snow softens some by then- we're supposed to get into the upper 50's- it was still very crunchy this morning

well my plan B didn't work out- snow was much softer (and quieter), but never saw an elk- 7 miles

this morning I hiked a little over 3 miles in the dark, glassed a bunch of good country- saw deer and a young bull moose, but no elk

this afternoon took Tiny E out on the trails for 3 miles
