Shooting in a winter league. Good time is had by all. The popularity seems to be falling off around here though. We lost a team this year because they count get enough people to field a team. We shoot two 900 matches once a month mostly. paulo bruno exequiel dybala

Sounds like fun. When I was an undergrad at LSU, we had a small group of pistol shooters that shot at the ROTC building. Free ammo was the big deal for me. We shot postal matches, our officer would send our targets in as we competed, never had resources to actually travel anywhere. Low budget. I had a Hi-Standard Supermatic Trophy that I picked up cheap from a bud. The ROTC issue pistols were Rugers with nothing special done to them. The High Standard was better and it's what I shot. We had 5 on the team, two I could out shoot, two I couldn't touch. Seems once you're in a slot like that, it's really hard to move up. I did get some good practice and did I say, free ammo. I kept my pistol in my dorm room, carried it back and forth in a gym bag to the ROTC building. Not sure the rule on that at the time, didn't seem to be a big deal. Don't ask, don't tell. Some good buds were casing bullets in their dorm room... No one complained. It was a different era back then, for sure. Try that today... DF

We have a match against the OSU pistol team every winter. Sometimes at our range and sometimes at their ROTC range. This will be the last year for their range as the college is closing it down because they don't feel a campus should have firearms on it. To bad because it is the end of an era, they might use our range if they can be fit in, don"t know what ROTC is going to do. Times are changing in this country, traditions are being left behind. It's sad and something I try not to dwell on.

Try to shoot weekly Bullseye matches here locally. Usually around 15 shooters. Lots of fun especially in the winter. Rim I use a S&W 41, S&W Victory, Ruger MKII and MKIII. Sometimes I bring a revolver although I’m never competitive with one against the Vets and LEOs
IWill work on equipment pics tomorrow.

I tried it a few weeks ago but got so bored I stopped half way through the match. I’m not a pistol guy. I can use one and actually have been doing so for the better part of my life in a professional capacity, but I much prefer rifles.

Here's a few. Just completed CMP Rimfire Distinguished, using a model 41. Bob S&W 41 Performance Center. Pretty good pistol Performance Center 41 (bottom) with my old 41. Army Marksmanship Unit put the BoMar on Marvel unit on a Caspian frame. Been using this for 2700s recently New, TX-made High Standard Victor (top) with an older M41. Both wear Herrett's stocks Daughter got hooked by the bullseye bug awhile back. She like my M41 heavy barrel with BoMar sights and Herrett's stocks
