I'm fat, I need to eat smarter. Rabbit food, salad, what is good food that helps the belt line?

Food alone won't do it, you need to change your lifestyle. Incorporate exercise like walking a mile or so every day, mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks along with a bottle of water. Pay attention to calories and carbs along with portion size, nothing to eat after the evening meal. I've lost 60# and maintained a healthy weight by observing these healthy lifestyle changes. Along with the weight loss my blood pressure has improved significantly and my blood sugar is stable.

I came to the same conclusion a couple years ago. Life’s little cumulative mistakes created middle age body I wasn’t happy with. Health and time are two things I can’t go make more of, so I made losing weight and getting healthy my first priority in life.

Short version: NO more sugar or grains. A large increase in good fat (coconut and omega 3 grass fed meat/butter), more sleep and a good probiotic. The fat came off and has stayed off for a couple years so far.

I can recommend a few good books if you’re interested. Getting educated helps with knowing what to eat, and staying motivated to staying motivated to refuse your carb cravings.

1. Calculate your total caloric expenditure for a day. There are plenty of calculators out there. Google "tdee calculator" and be honest when you plug in your info - if you are sedentary, put in sedentary.

2. Buy a food scale. 20 bucks at walmart will buy you a decent one.

3. Download the MyFitnessPal app to your phone, and chart your daily food intake. Be honest.

4. Drop your daily caloric intake 15 percent or so below your TDEE. Focus on lean protein (poultry, fish), healthy fats (olive oil, coconut oil), green vegetables and basic starchy carbs (rice).

5. Start walking at a brisk pace. Get your heart rate up at least 30 minutes to an hour each day.

Do this, and you will melt.

Simple, Just eat real food. Food companies have poisoned us with grains, corn syrup and processed foods.
A few generations ago we didn’t have many fat people. For the most part we were active and ate real food.
Unfortunately, most people think McDonald’s is real food and don’t know how to eat right.

I had no real choice since I required stents in July. From there I went to Cardio Rehab which took care of the periodicals on proper diet and lifestyle changes. I am lucky since I can lose weight easily just by getting off my (nearly)dead arse. I noticed that you are of the carnivore persuasion and seem to like the same kind of meat I like. "We" just have to learn to cook it properly and give up fat. Some of us are not inclined to clog our arteries so let's hope you are one of those. I am now a slave to statin drugs(cholesterol meds) so I can cheat some with fried walleye and choice steak.

I used to look like this, but don't eat my hat, it's the only felt cowboy hat I got. laugh[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

The total lie about fat being bad was one of the most obscene things ever done by the AMA in concert with the food industry! They had to make milk marketable after they took the goodie out of it...

There are lots of essential fatty acids, lots of essential amino acids... there are zero essential carbs...

Drop carbs, avoid the 3 white devils, flour, sugar and potatoes.

Meat, fat and veggies. In other words, eat plants and animals.

Try to skip breakfast or lunch.

You'll shred it. Don't overthink it.

This. You can do a lot of reading it if you want to understand why, but it works.
