I have a couple guns of my father's and have decided to pass them on to my nephews. They live in Longview, Texas and West Branch, Iowa. Can anyone recommend a good FFL near them to handle receiving the firearms and handling the transfer? Thanks guys.

Just mail them to yourself in care of them. That's legal and will keep them "off paper".

What law ? Who is gonna check ? Send via Priority Mail, insured w/adult signature required. I have done it several times and the postal carrier never asked anyone to open it.

I have done it several times and the postal carrier never asked anyone to open it. Probably no one would ever check. But technically that's a felony to send it to myself then have someone else open it and would be a career ender for me even if I didn't get charged. No thanks. I'll do it by the book. I make enough money I can afford to pay the transfer fees for my nephews.
