Both are old family names in Kodiak, one being an extremely successful fishing family with multiple boats. Kodiak has a horrible meth problem of late and it is going wild.

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - 37-year-old Benjamin Bodi and 39-year-old Summer Suydam are wanted suspects in a New Year's Eve burglary and assault that happened on Kodiak Island.

The two allegedly had pried their way through the door of a residence on Spruce Cape Road and attacked the victim when they arrived and entered the home. The two masked suspects allegedly struck the victim with the butt of a rifle. During an ensuing struggle, one round of the rifle was fired.

The suspects then left on foot, and the next day, Alaska State Troopers received word that they had boarded a ferry leaving Kodiak.

They are charged with Attempted Murder, Robbery, three counts of Assault 2, and Burglary. Suydam was charged with Robbery, Assault 3, Burglary and violating conditions of release.

What happened to the quiet little village I left? But, we always had a saying there: "In Kodiak, everybody is somebody!"

Meth is becoming a huge problem in this state, these tweakers are stealing all kinds of stuff to support their habits. Just this past weekend near Trapper Creek there were a number of trucks that had their catalytic converters cut off, apparently they are using battery powered sawsalls to cut them off. If they get caught in the act it is not going to end well for them.

That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Two suspects in a Kodiak assault and burglary were arrested in Anchorage, a week after they allegedly fled the island town.

37-year-old Benjamin Bodi and 39-year-old Summer Sutdam, both of Kodiak, allegedly pried open the door of a residence in Kodiak and then hit a victim with the butt of a rifle when he came into the residence.

The next day, January 1, they are believed to have fled to Anchorage.

On Wednesday, the Anchorage Police Department announced the two had been arrested. It says Bodi attempted to flee on foot, but "was quickly apprehended" by officers.

Bodi was charged with Attempted Murder, Robbery, three counts of Assault 2, and Burglary, while Suydam was charged with Robbery, Assault 3, Burglary, and Violating Conditions of Release.

Fairbanks man arrested for engaging in sexual conduct with his service dog

KTUU File
By Gilbert Cordova | Posted: Wed 9:31 AM, Jan 08, 2020

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - A Fairbanks man was arrested by Alaska State Troopers for apparently engaging in sexual conduct with his service dog.

AST says around 2 a.m. Wednesday troopers went back to a home they were at hours earlier for a sexual assault call.

Once there they confronted 45-year-old Dewayne Koenig-Messer who was engaging in the act.

AST arrested Messer for Cruelty to Animals and his outstanding arrest warrant for Vehicle Theft.

Ok nothing to do with dogs. But,
if the wall Mart and crime theory is correct., then should the crime level have went down in juneau when they closed the walmart?
I have not checked these facts, but have my doubts.
I have lived in some locations when the trade area population growth brought in a Wal-Mart , but they were well on their way to increased crime that coincides with increased population before the Wal-Mart's were built.
