I cut off the old [walnut?] and two piece brass rivets.

I drilled a 3rd hold in the blade with a carbide bit [$1 from China and it did not break].

I used (3) brass nails for one piece rivets.

I cut up some Black Locust. That does not grow wild here, but was planted by the pioneers in this area. When the trees near power lines are trimmed, there are big Black Locust branches in the ditch that are free.

I started grinding with a 4x24 belt sander until the knife fit my hand.
