The other "orange" thread prompted me to post these pics. The Ka-Bar was just given to me by my father. It was his go to knife for deer and bird hunting for many years until I gave him a folder 20 years ago. I don't know where he got it but I'd imagine it was 2nd hand. He just turned 80 in December and is unloading some gear. I always thought it was a super cool knife.... The other is my Gene Wiseman folder that has been in the EDC rotation since I got it maybe 10 years ago and it's been a great knife. Always liked orange scales....... And one of the cool logo on the sheath.....

Great combo.
If that old knife could tell stories.

I've never seen the orange handle on a knife that old before.
That sheath is awesome.

When I buy factory folders, I get orange if available. Last month I got an SOG SEAL XR Flipper Knife 3.9" Black TiNi S35VN Clip Point Blade, Black GRN Handles - XR Lock It only comes in black. So I put a square inch piece of fluorescent pink duct tape on each side, so I can find it if I drop it. That sticky tape adition is reversible, as is the modification to closing I made with an Aluminum liner. But the mod to the flipper lever is not going back. To keep the blade from locking closed after I modified the flipper lever [causing an unintended consequence], I made a partial liner that adjusts that closing so the lock cannot lock the blade folded.

So this morning I'm slicing veggies for an omelet and all of a sudden it dawns on me........more orange! The Victorinox paring knife is a favorite of mine and many here I know. Some old timers might remember the ash tray from the 70's........................

Very nice pair of knives. The KaBar sure is something special. Don't presently own any orange knives and while admiring everyones beauties I know I have to remedy that.
