Hey guys, I picked up a model 94 in 44 mag today. Might have gotten hosed, or might have gotten a deal, but I wanted it, so either way, I’m happy! Try as I might, through all my google searches, I can’t find one in this configuration. The barrel says “ Winchester Model 94 AE Cal. .44 Rem Magnum”. The barrel is 20” long, high polished bluing, xtr wood(dark finish, checkering, and hard red rubber recoil pad). It also has a large loop lever, with a straight grip butt stock. Anyone have any ideas? I can text or email pics if anyone would be gracious enough to post them. Thanks in advance!
Oh, and believe it or not, deer bite. Fairly hard.

I did. Mine doesn’t match any of them, lol. I don’t have a safety, all the ones with big loop levers have 16” barrels, or if they have 20” barrels, they don’t have checkering. I found one with checkering, but it has a pistol grip and a higher comb on the stock. Hence my confusion.

See if these links work. My best guess is it’s a 94 AE large loop that someone put xtr wood on? I know just enough to be dangerous to my wallet, so I’m probably wrong. Serial number is 5327xxx. Any info you could supply would be great. Date of manufacture, if it may be factory original, rough value, etc. https://i.imgur.com/m1zEwu0.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/7mDlsNe.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/5dZSFgQ.jpg

Looks like a mid 80's Model 94 to me. Serial number confirms that.
May or may not have come from the factory with a large loop and checkered stocks. Easily changeable. Doesn't really matter. Great rifle.
Congrats on a nice purchase!

Thanks for the info. Anyone else have anything to add? Any idea on value?

Thanks for the info. Anyone else have anything to add? Any idea on value? Yeah, what you paid for it. I've got one, albeit, with plainer wood and standard lever loop but it shoots great and a great gun. Enjoy it.

I have a few Winchester 44’s, the big loop levers can be bought and installed easily. You will enjoy the bigger loop in winter with gloves, or if you have big hands naturally. I’m sure you will enjoy the caliber, it’s a handy round for many animals
