... but not even close to Calhoun's grab.

I’ve been waiting for a nice condition 99F 300 Savage to come along. It has a nice condition Weaver KV 60 on it; the bonus/surprise … post reticle.

Perfect example of an F Keith. Bring that one to the Fest.

That is a very nice rifle.

I had it's twin once. Same scope and everything. It had the mushiest trigger of any 99 I ever owned.

99's are funny like that, some have perfectly acceptable triggers and others are just gawd awful.

Assuming that gun ain't the one I had, you can't beat that setup as a deer hunter. I like all 99's but I especially like the ones you can take hunting.

It's a 56, so the rear-sight was swapped out to accommodate the scope.

I have to take the snowmobile out back and shovel out the bench. It will be few days though, forecast is down to zero tomorrow, -20F Thursday, then snow Friday/Sat. Maybe up to 20 above middle of next week.

Glad I didn’t set my bid $5 higher.. I still need one someday, but that one went to a good home. Congrats!

My birthday is 3/27/56, you can just put one of those sticky bows on top of the scope, no need to find the original box. cool

Nice rifle Keith. I had a cantankerous .300 F once. I couldn't handload anything that would group as well as the Remington 150 gr. CorLoc and believe me I tried.

Nice rifle! Congratulations! I hunted with a 1949 99F with a Stith Mount and Lyman Alaskan 2.5 and a cut stock with a recoil pad last year. Deadly accurate!

Mine looks just like that one except it’s a 61, meaning tang safety and gold trigger. Not as desirable to most but shoots very well.

Very cool. The 50s vintage F was probably the slickest post war 99 ever made.
