Never saw one, but had some ammunition for one which contained #12 shot. Was told it was use to collect bird specimens for mounting.

Yup.
Got one. Backyard pests fear it!
That rimfire shell is dirty, so it needs cleaning often, but it's fun and functional.
Not a bad looker either.........The old Model 36 Winchester gets jealous when I grab the Bernardelli.
