The majority of my whitetail deer hunting has been in shotgun states. I have always used slug guns or muzzleloaders, and have leaned more towards a muzzleloader for my go to weapon in these states.

In recent years, straight wall cartridges have become legal in these areas. Now, the 450 Bushmaster is pretty popular option for straight wall deer hunting, but most of my hunting is with my 9 year old son, so recoil was a potential issue.

So, I decided to give the 350 Legend a try. To make a long story short, the chambering is a pleasure to shoot. It's been very accurate. And, it's taken deer with authority. He shot 7 deer with it and myself 1. Seven of the deer dropped in their tracks and one of the deer made it 60 yards. Also, meat damage has been minimal.

In conclusion, I have been very impressed with it.

Anyone else try it this hunting season?

I bought a RAR for my son to use in OH, but he punched his tags when I took him during archery. I decided to bring it (with my trusty 45-70 smile ) and used it to kill a nice 8. A sample of 1, but it did an excellent job.
My pard has an identical rifle and killed two while we were there. Both left blood trails a blind man found follow for the brief time before they died.

I purchased a Bear Creek Arsenal upper for my AR-15 to hunt with. I didn't get a shot this year, but several friends and acquaintances have killed deer with the 350 this year. All are happy with it's performance. Mine shoots Sub MOA at 100 yds. with Winchester 150 grain Deer Season XP ammo.

I'd use it if I had to, such as in the limited firearms zone of Michigan. If I had other choices I'd use them instead.

Saw this at the Howa booth at Shot Show today. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, but Howa is releasing the mini action in 350 legend with a 16.25" barrel.Perfect platform for the 350 in my opinion.

I put together an AR this past fall to use in Michigan's shotgun zone, but I didn't get a chance to shoot anything with it. From the 60 or so rounds I messed around with it at the range I was pretty impressed with the accuracy and overall performance. I used a Great Lakes Firearms barrel since they're about 10 minutes away.

I have a new CVA Scout V2 scoped up and ready to deer hunt with next fall. All holes touch at 100 yards with 170 gr and 180 gr Hornady and Winchester factory ammo.

Expect to have a CVA shortly. LGS has one in stock, but he says it has a 16 1/4 barrel. All the info I've found online, says it has a 20"? Haven't had a chance to go look at it yet.

If three or more people think you're a dimwit, chances are at least one of them is right.
