Stole them really. They are still at the shop because the NICS backround check was backed up and they're now closed for the holiday, so can't pick them up till Wednesday.

Neither have the crossbolt safety so pre 83? and both are really clean for their age. One must have had a scope on it at one time, the other still has the filler screws in the receiver base.

I'll get a pic up after I get them home next week.

Congratulations! I grabbed a clean one from an auction for $375, the only flaw is that some Bubba drilled right through the EFFING bullseye to install a sling swivel stud. I will fix that crappy job and get it out the range. 35 Remington is new to me...

Picked up the 2 Marlin 336's late this morning.

Top one is 1972, bottom one is 1980 according to the date codes. Both JM stamped.

Both in excellent shape with nice bores and only a few handling marks on the wood that is hardly noticeable. Tiny bit of blueing loss on the upper one at the muzzle, but again, hardly noticeable. Neither had the hoods for the front sights, but considering the condition they are in, I can live with that too.

Both in .35 Remington.

Exactly what I've been working on on the 1972 gun. 4 passes with a patch around a brush with JB bore paste at 30 strokes in & out followed by 3 patches with Hoppes per pass to clean out the residue and the bore is down to bare steel.

I like your pair of mighty 35's. This is an older cartridge that was introduced about the time when Henry Ford began building production line Model T cars. Across the decades, this cartridge has proved its worth as a deadly hunting cartridge. Within reasonable shooting distances, the mighty 35 has downed big game animals much larger than typical deer.

Absolutely......The holy grail of .35 Rem bullets since Remington stopped offering the 200 gr core-lokt.

I believe they are still available in loaded cartridges from time to time but haven't seen them as components in awhile.
