I'm looking at the ATN X-sight II 3-14 for a possible candidate for a coyote rifle. Anyone have any experience with them? Pro's vs cons? I don't have thousands in the budget for a true night vision or thermal scope. Is this a good compromise of are there better options? Price point is appealing, but I'm a big believer that you get what you pay for.

My wife bought one about a year or year and a half ago. She tried using it and the focus was so hard to turn she boxed it and put it away. I decided to try it and pulled it out. The focus knob was still so stiff it couldn't be turned while looking through the scope. I sent it back to ATN about a month ago and am waiting on it to come back. If it works like advertised, it will be a good scope.

I have one of the first generations. I liked it but have not used it as much as I thought. Sits on a spare AR right now that I have not shot.

ATN doesn't have a good reputation for reliability or customer service.

EuroOptic.com has a pretty good selection of night vision stuff.

Looks like there's a dealer on the fire. You may want to check him out.

A friend of mine has the ATN 4K and I have the Sightmark Photon RT. I also had a NIB ATN 4K and sold it after I looked through his 4K at night. The Photon has a cleaner view at night than the 4K. The 4K has way too many bells and whistles for my liking.
Sightmark just came out with a new scope called Wraith. It has color during the daytime, the Photon is black and white during the day.

Ive had it about 1 year. I really like the 4 aa battery packs it came with and the 4 aa's power the onboard ir also. I have been running my Photon with an external phone charging bank so I don't have to worry about the aa's losing power. The onboard ir is good to about 250yds(shooting wise)with the scope cap flipped up. I learned of a little trick by punching out a dime sized opening on the scope cover and leaving the scope cover closed. It really added clarity/crispness to critters/trees/etc. With the scope cover open, things are a little fuzzy around the edges but it's not that bad. The onboard ir doesnt have enough ooomph to run it with the dime sized hole though. I have a sniper hog light mounted on the scope and it works real well with the dime sized hole.

The only issue I had with the Photon was in January. It was -10 and I had been out for about 45mins and the screen was messed up. I turned it off and powered it back up and it was fine. I believe the low end operating temp is 13°.

Have you had a chance to look through the wraith compared to the photon? I got a chance to look through the x-sight during the day and I wan't impressed with the picture quality. I'm planning on looking through it once it's dark tonight.

I recently purchased the ATN 4K pro. Have not shot anything with it yet but have taken it out and played with it a lot. Could easily identify a raccoon at 150 yards. And with a streamlight IR illuminator deer at 275 (known distance). Feel for my budget in a toy that is going to shoot hogs 2-3 times a year it works way better than I expected.
It has worked without any issues also.

Buddy from work uses his 3-4 night a week shooting hogs at his farm and has had no issues.

There is way better on the market, but it also cost way more. If your a serious night hunter obviously spend the $ for thermal.

I’m real happy with the Pulsar RXQ30 Trail. No bells and whistles but let’s you set it up for three rifles. Not cheap but not 3k up either. Basic thermal hunting scope, no cool vids to share but it will help you kill things at night.
