I have for sale the above. I believe it is an EG but?? It is a Chicopee Falls rifle, #6905XX. Wood is in good shape considering its age. Blemishes don't gouge the wood. There is no tang crack. The sling studs are hook loop style and I have the hooks. Not 100% sure they are Savage but they are sling hooks. Barrel is 24". The tang sight is a Redfield. I also will throw in a FL die. $600 shipped to your FFL. Any questions send a PM. Pictures up soon. Thanks for looking

Before we see pictures, I’m guessing that it is a model R.
Good luck.

It’s a Model R. Sling eyes are original.
Model Rs have the reputation of being the most consistently accurate 99s made.
Does it have a brass or case colored rotor?
Beautiful rifle at a very fair price. The receiver sight is worth at least $100 by itself. Someone is going to get a nice one! I have two.

What is the "collar" just forward of the foreend on the barrel? I'm not familiar with that. Thanks Ed

The "collar" is electricians tape so you can attach your tag after a successful hunt!!! If the rotor is case colored it has faded. Not brass Thank you RAS Thank you elkchsr!

Just make sure he includes the tape.
(Graeme, I tend to keep my electrician's tape wound around the barrel too--though just back of the muzzle, where it's also handy for placing over the muzzle after as shot, to renew the snow/dirt block....)
