I go to the bank, go inside- teller broad is all bleary eyed, red nosed, and pinching at her nose with a Kleenex between customer transaction. You can hear the mucus gurgle.
My turn, I ask her if she is sick which is obvious as fugk. She says “oh no hun, I juss got sinus”

I say yeah everyone has sinuses. Then she looks at me like I’ve got a horn growing out of my forehead.
So, I noticed this for years around this part, a Southern thing maybe? My mother in law says this same phase. There’s very few allergies or pollen if any that I know of in the middle of winter.

City folk be like no I just have a slight case of *insert Latin here* but I'm able to keep it corrected with enemas, green tea and drum circles
And I agree they've all likely got a damned cold or flu and are spraying it all over the place if they have a runny nose. Stay the fug home or at least spring 3 bucks for some cold pills to stop dripping everywhere.
ya people say the same thing here. i hate being around people generally. i work with a bunch of foreigners and young people who have questionable hygiene. i am a compulsive hand washer, pull my sleeves down over my hands to use a door knob. open doors with my ass and elbows. getting worse as i get older. but i'll tell you what, i rarely get sick. and the church potlucks, if i ain't first in line, i get an eye twitch. people are fuggen pigs.
Went to an A&W restaurant for lunch one day and could tell the gal behind the counter was sick, watched reach into the freezer for a frozen mug and her nose dripped three drops of snot into the vat of frozen root beer mugs....

There is such a thing as living too clean. Your body is not exposed to things to build antibodies to resist such bad things . Many clean isn't the right word maybe sterial is better word
I agree Idh' kids should grow up playing in the mud and eatin the odd worm. Still though in malls and other busy places during cold and flu season I open swing doors with my coat sleeve.
I've had problems with my sinuses all my life, and the older I get, the worse they get. I've had allergy tests, and they said I was allergic to anything, but something sure sets mine off. I don't get sinus infections like I used to, and that's a good thing, but my head stays stopped up just about all year long.
As far as people coming to work sick with a cold, I did it out of necessity, and also worked with the flu, because the damned mail had to go out, and I didn't have a substitute. I was younger then, and dumber, and if it happened today, I'd tell them where to stick that mail. But, there are instances in which people have to work sick, and when they do, they should always try and keep that crap to themselves.

Slummy , I am allergic, to quote the doc "To more things than not". Pollen isn't all of, or even the main problem. Of 4 types of trees tested - I'm allergic to 3. Of 4 types of grass tested, I'm allergic to 3. Horses, cows - not. Dogs - mildly. Cats -highly. And thi list goes on.
I wonder if I'm allergic to "The Warden" ? Hmmmm.

Smack dab in the middle of flu season, a particularly bad one, 2 weeks from the holidays with everybody huggin and kissin and traveling.
