I'd like to do my first custom in, wait for it---- 6.5 Creedmoor. Biggest problem is being in Canuckstan. Barrels, used,take-offs, and even new, choices are hard to find or limited. Just throwing that out for discussion. I've got 2 .308s and I like what I've read on the 6.5 Creedmoor. I can understand the dislike that's been voice by the 6.5 Swede followers, but I'm 72 now so I think I should BUILD one before I move into the home! lol.
Thanks ahead of time guys.

Be very careful what you say about a man's wife and kids, but be damn careful what you say about a man's bird dog!

I'd say a large slice of that dislike is as irrational as the mystical powers attributed to the Creedmoor by those who don't really understand much.

Remington is selling quite a few 700 ADL combo guns in 6.5CM at the big box stores. Perhaps a take-off could be found. Threads do match up with the 600.

What other Remington model barrels could be used 783? or the 7? 7 uses a barrel nut, so I guess that's out!

I don't know about the 783, but the 600/660/673/700/7 all use the same threads and none are factory-equipped with a barrel nut.

You are correct. The 783 is a different animal.

Thanks guys. That will get me on a search. What would you think would be the minimum effective length for the 6.5CM? I'd like to do a carbine length.
