That corn picture is an old one. With roundup corn, we have trouble raising sweet corn.

My garden last year was raised in straw bales. Worked ok. Just last week cut all the bale strings and broke down all the straw. Some first class mulch in the centers. Gonna bring in a load of good amended soil and mix it and be ready. We were deluged last spring and then NO more rain. It was really a drought. Lake here down more than 3 ft. But getting some measurable rain now for first time in months. Tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, yams. Cmon warm weather! Ruth Stout methodology.

There is nothing finer on earth than a bacon and tomato sandwich, made with the first ripe tomato of the summer.

Bliss.

If anyone wants proof of a divine creator, that first ripe tomato comes as close to proving God's existence as anything else.

Nice looking toms, Richard. Winter shipped toms leave much to be desired.

An old picture Denny, tomatoes exported to Canada, likely the bacon was as well. That City rye bread was bought in Dryden.

Love BLTs. Don’t garden, so store tomatoes. Toasted homemade bread though.

Pink tennis balls. What can you do? Better now in the dead of winter than when the little green one are growin' soo slow.
