I have one that was bought around in 1976 I think. My rifle has always been very accurate. It's favorite bullet is the old Nosler 52 grain Solid Base and IMR 4064 powder.

I have a 77V .220 Swift that I bought used about thirty years ago. From the start, excellent accuracy with a variety of bullets. I eventually had to have the barrel replaced, but the second barrel shoots as accurately as the first one did before it became worn.

I have one from 1975, pretty stock except for a Canjar single set trigger. Shoots great with about anything up to 55gr. Shoots best with Sierra 52gr hp with Hunter powder. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if that helps

I have a 77V 220 since around '80-'81. It wears a Lewey 20X with a dot. It shot .3's and .4's with Rem factory 50's. I haven't shot it in probably 30 years. That's also the last time I went chuck hunting. Because of this thread, I think I'll take it along next time I go to the range. Thanks!

My late brother had a Liberty model. Tackdriver. When the barrel needed replacing, he switched to .22/243, then again to a standard chamber .22/250 so he could sell it more easily.
Even with a 1-14" twist, some bullets would turn into smoke, or make lead pinwheeels on the target. Great cartridge.
What fresh Hell is this?

Bought my 1 st 77V in 1975 and wore it out on dogs. Year or so later I found another barely used for a good price put a 8x Leupold on it and never looked back. As Keith 1 said 52 gr Noslers and 4064 was a marriage made in heaven, switched to 760 and 380 for less barrel heat and backed off max loads. Still have an affair with the swift. Just like ice cold beer,it don't get better than this. MB

I had one with the thin barrel years ago. Killed a few deer and one elk with it not to mention other assorted animals. I was lucky if groups were under an inch but it was always consistent. I used to shoot Hornady 55gr bullets and Nosler Solid Base bullets. Eventually the throat gave up the ghost and I sold it. I should have kept it and had a new barrel put on..,

My brother had a Ruger M-77V I loaded for, extremely accurate rifle and cartridge but a tad heavy as a walking varminter.
