I was wondering if an 4 wheel ATV will fit in the back of a Tacoma or Tundra? I am thinking about getting a Tacoma or even a Tundra, but not brand new. Was wondering if I was to buy my kids a ATV will it fit in the bed? Do I need a full size truck to fit one in the bed? How about pulling a trailer with an ATV on it. I had a 86 Tacoma a LONG time ago while in college in Rochester, NY and it worked for its intend usage. But this time I'll probably need space to haul kids stuff around like maybe a 4 wheeler ATV. Can these Tacoma/Tundra trucks with at least a V6 pull these loads with ease? I have seen full size trucks haul 4 wheel ATV's in them but was wondering if a Tacoma or Tundra is capable.
TIA

Run a search on Tacoma in this forum. There was a similar topic a year or two back. I had two 98 Tacoma's, one was a 2.7L 5sp, the other was the V6 5spd. Either would tow an ATV in a trailer with no problems, and the V6 had good power for most anything I asked it to do. The beds of these trucks aren't big, but a mid-size ATV like a Honda Rancher or a Yamaha Big-Bear will fit okay and not weigh it down too badly. You will know it is back there when you drive it though. I used to carry a 750lb+ quad in the V6 model, but it was just too much for daily use. A girl told me that it looked like a giant ATV was trying to eat my little truck. A buddy has had the Tundra's since they were introduced, and he carries his bigger bikes with no problem. He doesn't get the mileage that a Tacoma gets.

An atv will fit in a 6' bed. If the bed is shorter, look in the atv owner's manual to see what the length is. Most atv's are no wider than 40". A Tundra should be 48" between the wheel wells. A Tacoma might be too narrow unless you build some kind of ramp to get the front tires over the wheelwells.
Trailering is what pickups are made for. Pulling one with an atv would be a piece of cake for either truck. Even with a big 700CC atv, you're not talking about more than 1000 to 1500 lb or so gross, depending on the trailer. Years ago, I pulled a trailer hauling everything from junk to firewood with a Datsun with only a 1600cc engine. It wasn't fast, but it handled it just fine. I don't think any pickup on the road today is that low powered.
