For the last 3 years I’ve only seen him at night,

This year he’s a little bigger than last year.
7 more days of season left to go.

If you basically know where he beds, and have space to do it, get a well organized drive together.

He didn’t get that old or big walking around during the day. You have to change the strategy.

Just like people and dogs. Some are smarter than others.

A deer like that will walk around the other side of a pine tree from you while you think you are sneaking into his bedding area.

A guy at one of the deer seminars that I went to asked the question, "How do you hunt a nocturnal buck?" The speaker said that you go kick him up out of his bed and when he runs, he isn't nocturnal anymore.

I'd sure say those are two different bucks. But it's hard to say for certain.

Could be, that photo was taken about 3/4 mile from where the other photo was taken. It’d be nice to think there are 2 of them .

He on his feet somewhere every day, and if he crossing your place to bed, be there....got to catch him sometime. If you got a deer like that CLOSE to where you hunt, put the time in and you could get him. Got to hunt smart....play wind, play your hunches, sometimes you have to know when to be there, and when not to be there. Like to ask guys that just killed a nice deer "Was this the first time you sat in that stand and killed him?"Nine times out of ten the answer is first time. There is a reason for that....a buck that has got some age on him knows when someone has been in there stable, that nose don't lie and they trust it every moment of every day. You got to walk in, walk out and if you put your feet on the ground in there house they know it....everytime. Read that again and take it to the bank. Put you some cameras up where your hunches say he been there, and then don't be walking in there checking them but like once a week. The way I do it is put some sent proof bags on my feet up to my knees, tie them off, walk in check cameras and get out of there. Hard to kill a buck like that if they not in your area, but if one like that is close by, he can be killed if all lines up.

I’m in between hattiesburg and Jackson. I’ve got 21 acres surrounded by 550 acres of no hunting, no trespassing land. These deer only come off those places to eat and chase does. I killed a pretty good 9 point here in January 2018.
