Don't know if the punishment fits the crime in this case, but for some crimes I think flogging is a much better solution than putting a family's breadwinner in jail long enough that the kids have to be sent into the foster care system. I would wonder if Indonesian "foster care" doesn't mean the streets to be sexually abused the rest of their lives, which will be short.
We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth?

It doesn't meet our test of cruel and unusual punishment but it is their law, she was caught in a hotel room with a man, and she knew the punishment if she got caught. I can't feel sorry for her under the circumstances. +1

It is okay as long as they do not mess with Kirkland Sumatra coffee production...

And then it came to pass in Jerusalem that a harlot stoning was about to start. Just as the first stone was about to be thrown Jesus waded into the crowd and moved to protect the harlot saying "Let you among us without sin cast the first stone!"
Whereupon a frail whitehaired lady in the back of the crowd moved forward and winged a big rock at the criminal. Immediately the crowd took up the stoning.
Jesus stood there redfaced, shaking his head. "You know Ma, sometimes you really piss me off!"

A society that believes it is just to execute somebody for being gang-raped is a very sick society.

Nice place for Ilhan Omar, Tlaib, and AOC to emigrate. Sharia law is what they want. Right? Here ya go, darlins. Have at it.

I can't feel sorry for her under the circumstances. As I recall, Jesus did. Who is qualified, based on His example, to throw the first stone or take the first swing? Yes, Jesus did. His purpose, though, was to show the hypocrisy of the Pharisees. They were trying to set Jesus up, get him to say the law was wrong. Like the Muslims, they seemed to be punishing only the woman. There was no man in the dock. While Jesus forgave her, it didn't change the fact that she'd sinned. Jesus told her to sin no more. Jesus knew that she would receive him. We can't just wholesale tell criminals that we forgive them and release them or society would turn into anarchy in a hurry. They have to be held accountable. We might not agree with Indonesia's law, but it is their law and she apparently broke it, getting caught in the act.

Public flogging of a woman in Manassa Virginia

I feel bad for people born in a country with religious retards at the helm who made stupid laws like this, and they have to try to live under them.

Where's the man. Is there no punishment for him? No kidding. In their view, it's his right. But, she is wrong. Mandatory castration for the men involved, and that problem will stop real quick. No flogging crew needed.

more punishment according to them : If someone cuts of both the breasts of a woman (in which case full diyah shall be paid). And in case he cuts off one breast he should pay diyah equal to half of that which is payable for killing a woman. diyah = punitive damage , ( may be 50 camels , not kidding )

Every country has laws specific to their history and moral code. The woman was flogged, but could have just as easily been killed in other countries or end up with the cheated husbands house and truck in mine and maybe yours. Just gotta know YOUR country or suffer the consequences. MY concern is when crazy zealots come to the USA and want to pollute our system of laws under the Constitution, with Shiria law from one of the schithole countries where that’s normal.

very few feminist or liberal groups are making any attempts to help these women ( or men ) . i think we need to expose them as much as we can . even a Facebook post will help.
