Word I'm getting is that Peter Mackay is a shoe-in for the job. But right now I'm loving the idea of Juthtine campaigning in Toronto against a female, black, immigrant conservative. So I've just become a card-carrying member of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Honestly guys, with the offerings we've had of late, it's time to stir the hornet's nest. I encourage you to obtain a CPC membership and submit a nomination for her.

COURAGE – COMPASSION – COMMON SENSE

LESLYN LEWIS
THE LEADER CANADA NEEDS RIGHT NOW

I’m running to be Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. It’s the first time in Canadian history that a visible minority woman has run for Leader of either major federal party, and potentially for the Prime Minister of Canada! The Party has set the requirements for entering the race very high. Each Candidate will need to raise $300,000 as an entry fee and submit at least 3,000 signatures from people who have purchased a Conservative Party membership. The Party has also set a very short time frame to accomplish these two goals. We need your help to accomplish both these goals as soon as possible.

To read more about my journey click here.

You can register to vote for me if you are 14 years or older and a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

She'll probably get in the race, but it would surprise me if she came out on top.

I'll say one thing, she has a lot of popular boxes checked. She's black, female and an immigrant. She's a family type, a church goer and has no ties to the political structure. And a lawyer.

You can be certain that with a little push from the media, she'll easily take her riding and cause worry lines for Justin's handlers.

I think we'd be most successful with a female leader, but I'm not one to promote gender over merit. I don't really know much about Leslyn, I really hope she is merit rich. That would seem to be a winning combination.

Ever since Mackay pushed for disproportionate penalties for gun offences, he lost my support. We all know it is the offender who commits the crime, not the tool! Trying to demonize an inanimate object with stiffer prison sentences really made me angry.

I would like to see Michelle Remple as the leader.
On top of her leadership attributes and experience in government, she is one of us: a gun owner (RPAL)

Doesn't matter if she's pro-gun or not. What matters is that she listens to the constituents. And polls across Canada consistently say that we don't need any more gun laws. Juthtine just pushes them because it because it's a favourite of Toronto liberals and it distracts everyone else from the way he's fuqqing up the country.

Like I said in my original post, I'm more interested in someone shaking up the current Conservative establishment, because we don't have a lot of quality people there right now - especially among those running for the leadership.

I don't want a so-called Conservative taking away my guns, so the CPC leader NEEDS to be pro-gun.

Name the last Conservative Prime Minister who was pro-gun?

Or any of the current nominees?

Harper Is not a shooter and was not pro-gun. He campaigned on getting rid of a registry that was already on life-support and he did it. Kudos to him for it.

If he was pro-gun, we’d have suppressors and AR15’s would be unrestricted. Neither are a crime issue and Harper couldn’t have gotten elected in Toronto if he walked in the Pride parade with a pony d!ldo stuck in his ass. So, there was no political fallout to him making those changes.

I voted for Mt Harper, and would again if he ran.

Me as well. Also worthy of note was Jim Flaherty the finance minister. However, he couldn't have accomplished what he did if he didn't have the full support of Harper. Flaherty was the representative from my home riding and it was a great blow when he passed away.

I have said for a long time that the Liberals get in power long enough to screw up the economy and then the Conservatives get elected and have to work like hell to try and repair the economy.

Dude, why the mockery?

Harper was an accountant. He did the numbers and they worked out. I voted for him and I’d vote for him again but be realistic..

We need new ideas and new people. Right now Turdeau has the youngsters, the frustrated housewives and the feminists in his pocket. We are not going to get past the finish line relying only on anti-abortionists and shooters.

ETA for the last 25 years Conservatives have only gotten in when the stench of Liberal corruption has gotten so bad that people are tired of holding their noses.

We need something interesting to present to the public.

True conservatism is not hard core right wing, Ir should be just a little right of centre -- in the middle ground. Not progressive -- we had too many years of that. Liberalism needs to be made to appear the way it is -- ultra left wing -- not as socialistic as NDP or communism, but not too far off.

This^^^

The biggest problem we have is that the Liberals are positioned to cherry-pick the most popular ideas from both sides.

Cretin was a master at that. Any incoming Conservative leader would be ridiculed mercilessly for their proposals. Three months later, Cretin would announce the same thing as if a revelation from God.

"Let your moderation be made known unto all men, the Lord is at hand." (Philippians 4:5)

Wait till he shows up, and see what he does with all our favourite political junk.
