How do you trap and dispatch skunks.

Friend has them under the house.

Can of tuna or marshmallows in a live trap. Approach trap very slowly and calmly with an old blanket or sheet held up concealing your approach to trap. Be sure to keep this between you and the skunk. Slowly cover trapped skunk with that blanket. Take trap to pond or deep puddle and slowly lower trapped skunk and submerge for more than 5 minutes. Done

A live trap is the way to go.

Put a large heavy duty garbage bag over it. Preferably black and thick (that's what she said)

When you set the trap tie some rope or cord to the handle and string it through a small hole in the garbage bag.

When the skunk is in it, slowly approach and ease it into the bed of your truck. Don't let the skunk see you and try and move slow.

Worse case scenario it sprays, but not on you.

Lower trap into nearby water source. Drink a beer or 15. Retrieve, dump skunk. Repeat as necessary.

I’ve heard this is the best solution.

Reba: Shoot them in the head or directly in the spine with a 17 HMR bullet/Rifle - they will succumb quickly and can't spray if done correctly.
Believe me I have learned this lesson the hard way.
Good luck in your quest.

Tikkanut: I love my various 17 Mach2 Rifles but have as yet to shoot a Skunk with one.
When I see a Skunk near my home I go for one of my 17 HMR Rifles.
Maybe I will try the 17 Mach2 on the next one I see.
Where do you shoot them (I try for the brain or the spine and that incapacitates them immediately using the 17 HMR)?

Burmese tiger trap. And a gaff hook. Careful where you put that gaff.
