Managed to fill the freezer on a trip to Alabama, this weekend. The new to me Remington 700 280 rem/Burris E-1 combo is my new favorite whitetail rifle, along with the 140 gr corelokts. Now these deer ain’t nothing to write home about but they’ll make plenty of feed for the family!

Good eating!

I learned to start making neck shots when I can.

Same result as a head shot, but without the mess... smile

Well I wanted to see what the 280 would do with the corelokts on different placements. Needless to say they all worked only one made it about 40 yards before it expired.

Congrats on filling your freezer. I've never been much on neck or head shots, the target area is way too small when compared to the shoulder/lung area. I managed to bag two doe and a buck this season.
