When packing for da camp it's either the Win. M-94 BB 375 WCF or my Marlin M336 SC in 35 Rem. for walking and a bolt gun for sitting a stand.

This year my primary will be a flat-band 94 in 32 special that my father-in-law gave me awhile ago. He shot himself last Tuesday because he was done living I guess. It's been a long week...

Not my primary rifle, but I have spent a lot of time in the field with a Marlin 336 in 35 Remington. I love that setup!

10 years later, who is still using a levergun as their primary hunting rifle? I no longer do. My Marlin still sees a good bit of use, but not as much as my Winchester 70 Featherweight Winlite 270.

I do. I carry a bolt action quite a bit, but one of my lever actions is still my go-to.

I filled my buck tag this year with my Ruger 77 Hawkeye .30-06 but filled my doe tags with my Marlin .30-30 and it's still my #1 deerslayer.

I still occasionally carry my M94 Win. and .45-70 Marlin, but the bolt rifle remains a primary. Basically, nothing's changed. I'll never completely abandon the Lever rifle....too useful.

Wow. Cool to read the old posts.

I pack a Marlin .30-30 to deer camp every year in PA. Doesn't always get used. But often enough.

Also have and use some .44s, .357, and .45-70

Hard to say what my "primary" is

You are going to love hunting with that 99F. The 99 I hunt with about half of the time is a late 50s 99F with an older long tube Leupold M8 4X. They are one of the finest hunting rifles ever made in my opinion. The 300 Savage is a great mild mannered cartridge too.

The only way to fly.

Not a 280AI, but it does OK here in south TX. Scope is a 2.5x Weaver Classic.

The marlin levers 336 in 30-30 are my kids favorites and are still killing deer. As long as we’re not expecting to shoot 300yd shots I’m sure we’ll have a Marlin lever somewhere near on every hunt.

I have been using a Marlin .30-30 since my Grandpa handed his diet to me when I was 12 years old. It is the gun that typically get the starting spot for my hunting season. My 12 year old son took his first deer (8 pointer) with it this year. That was a proud moment that I will never forget. My daughter got her first deer with it as well. Another proud moment!!!!! My Marlin was made in 1951, the year my parents were born. It functions perfectly and a pretty darn accurate rifle. It is my most prized possession, and I will be honored to pass it on to my kids.

The first few years I hunted my primary gun was a Marlin 336 30-30 because that's all I had.
I've also had a Marlin Guide Gun 45-70 and a 1894 44 Mag but I let them go and went back to my first love.
Since then the Loonie bug has hit me but I still try to take that old Marlin out every year just out of nostalgia.

Only when I am not using a 99 savage

I never have, but my dad carried a 336 RC .35 Rem for as far back as I can remember. I bring it up to camp every year and take it for a walk at least one day each season. Same with my grandad's 760 300 Sav.

Being a 99 addict, there's a lever gun in my hands more often than not. My 99 EG is a true rifleman's rifle-scary accurate with some very high quality handload courtesy of one of our members.

My lever gun is my 1983 Winchester model '94 Angle Eject .30-30 Winchester. Haven't used it in years but it's comforting to know it's in the safe ready to go. I've shot it at the range recently and it's still dead on.
