Nice. Don’t dryfire that titanium firing pin. Mine snapped. I put a Jager in there and haven’t looked back. Mine may not see daylight for a while. I just picked up a Sig P320 X5 Legion.

In our match last Saturday 25% of the weapons were Glocks. They definitely have the accuracy and reliability to compete in the Production and Carry Optics divisions. If you can do your part the Glock platform will not hold you back. One thing I noticed was two of our competitors were Mounties from Saskatchewan and both used Glocks in the Production Division. I use a CZ Shadow 2 and a Beretta 92FS in USPSA and IDPA and the dry fire topic is still hotly debated by the folk shooting competition. I asked the armorer at the Front Sight Academy in Pahrump NV about dry firing and his reply was dry firing will not hurt the "newer CZ's" and nothing but running dry hurts a Beretta. That being said I use snap caps when dry firing.

The Glock 34 pretty much rules the Production category of IDPA. In USPSA it is the CZ. The Shadow 2 is too heavy to qualify for the IDPA Production category.

16BORE the rules are different for USPSA and IDPA which one are you going to try first. The CZ Shadow 2 is DA/SA and in USPSA must be drawn hammer down. How the first shot is fired depends on your weapon, My CZ and Beretta both have to be drawn hammer down.

Gotcha....I’m still skool. We called it IPSC and you could win the Nationals with a single stack and no optic.

IPSC is the international parent of USPSA. I have never shot an international match but the folk that have say it is set up just like USPSA except they use a different design cardboard target. I would suggest showing up at a match with at least three magazines, 200rnds of ammunition and kydex holster and magazine pouches. The holster will have to cover the trigger guard. Ear and eye protection will be required. Make sure the RO knows your new so he can detail the rules. My first match they DQ'ed the guy in front of me for breaking the 180. So when it was my run I went very slow to make sure I got it right.

They switched to to tombstone quite awhile back if I recall. Anyway, IPSC is like offering crack to an addict for me...

16bore,
If you can you should go at it again. It's never been better.
Sign up and squad up online. Show up and everybody's already set.
Scores are uploaded by the end of the match. You're reviewing how you did by the time you get home. It's great.

You mean I don’t have to chase someone down at the next match to find out how I did? Shot a 38 Super race gun back in the 90’s, right as C-More’s were being developed. Then out for several years and jumped back into Limited shooting 40 in an STI. It’s so damn tempting to play in production. I’d be thinking Gen 5 G34 and 5 gallon buckets of ammo. I had my share of yanking on a 550.
It’s like crack though. Oh wait, maybe I’m dating myself. It’d be like meth.
Dunno, a lot of the guys I talk to whine so f’n much about “gaming” courses and procedural crap and someone farted on my walk through and I stepped on a piece of brass.
Wah, wah, wah.....
Snowballs chance I try “I Don’t Practice Anymore”. or “Sissy-Sic”
Screw that schit.

Meh.
I just let them whine.
And 9mm is so cheap these days you can forget the 550.

That’s for sure. I’d always hoped 22LR would take off as class of sorts.
