This is the rifle that Ruger made in the '90's with the quarter rib machined integral to the barrel, select Circassian walnut, deep high lustre blue, steel grip cap, etc.
If you are not already familiar with them, they were Ruger's top shelf rifles, made to keep company with the "Bond Street" quality rifles that Bill admired, but at a real world price.

This rifle is in excellent condition - I'd say 98 or 99%.  It has excellent wood IMO.

It has one imperfection, a small bit of missing finish on the edge of the forearm checkering.  It's stable - it hasn't changed in the dozen or so years that I've owned the rifle.  I was able to get a good close up - see pics.

The bore is in the same condition as the rest of the rifle.  Ruger rings are included as pictured.
FYI, I've never shot it so I can't tell you what it likes.

Price is $1450, which includes shipping to your FFL from my FFL.
This rifle will be listed elsewhere - the first "I'll take it" by timestamp will win it.
Please also send an email with an "I'll take it" to
bmail3040gmail.com
Ill go by that timestamp first to avoid confusion.

I'll can accept PayPal (gift only) or a US Postal money order for payment.
CHANGE - after hearing of some scammers using PayPal to accept goods then file for a refund/reverse charges, I'm going to stick with US Postal Money order only. Shouldnt be a big deal, hope no one minds.

I will take care to pack it well. I'll probably just donate a hard case for this one just to be safe.
I'm not sure what insurance costs, but if the buyer wants it I can find out and add it.  Seems like a smart move to me, more for loss than damage.

Thanks everyone for trying to connect with Dr Death, but he already knows - he and I talked about it in November.

He'd probably appreciate it if he didn't get a bunch more PMs

Thanks!

It's a beautiful gun--shame I don't have the extra $cratch to throw around for it.

Only roughly 1,600 of the express rifles were made in 6 different cartridge offerings! These are NOT the heavy RSM magnum safari rifles.

To clarify, this is a 30-06 on a standard length action.

They were also made on a magnum length action, in 375 H&H and .416 Rigby I believe.

I believe they are 7.5 lbs typically. I don't have a scale to weigh mine, so I would go by Ruger specs.
I can tell you that it is sturdy and is balanced well. I'd guess 1/2 lb more than the Ruger RS that I had in .270 Win.
The special barrel and the steel bottom metal probably account for all of it.

Mine weighs 9 1/2 pounds with factory rings and a 3-9 Conquest.Thats all up weight with sling and fully loaded. They will never make these again as the barrel, sights etc is machined out of one piece of steel . Truly a classic.
