I am putting together a lightweight Rem 700 SA in 20 Practical. Which B&C stock do you guys reccomend. Don't really want to spend the money on an McMil edge. I read that some of the Alaskan or such had fitting issues, like incorrect receiver mounting holes.

Might even look or a used one.

I thought there was one here on the classifieds from a Rem Ti that was painted up nice. But I couldn't find it. Here's the B&C Ti stock. It has a mini bedding block up front for the screw and lug.....and alum pillar for the back screw.

Stocky's Stocks carries them also. I've heard of fit issues, too. Here's what Stocky's says about it:

2950/51 ADL Mountain Rifle Models -
(this model requires fitting / for gunsmiths only!)
- Short or Long Action ADL only.
- lightest stock Bell & Carlson makes, but
- plan on spending some time getting it on right
- length-of-pull 13.5"; O.A.L. 30.5"

I bought a new Alaskan last year & was a bit peeved that I had take some of the backside out of the recoil lug mortise to get everything lined up, but after that 5 minute fix all went well. The forearm centers on the barrel nicely & I like the feel of both grip & forearm. For a SA 700 it weighs 26 ozs.

The last one I bought was a new 2950 Ti model. Now that it’s fixed I really like it. The problem was the action holes were so far off neither one would bolt up and the front one was crooked. I had sanded the channel since my rifle had a factor contour barrel. I contacted B&C over the action hole issue and when they found out the channel was sanded they wouldn’t warranty the stock or talk about fixing it. I drilled out the old pillars and replaced them with new ones epoxied in correctly and now all is well.

That’s it. That would be same as a 1st Gen Ti stock. And a bargain with Fosnaugh’s work. Lug area may need to be rebedded.

I own 7 or 8 of the Ti stocks and they have all been great. Best stock for the money in my opine.
