I don't know about the other conservatives on this forum; but, I, for one, want Bernie Sanders to get the Democrat nomination. Aside from the fact I feel he would be the "easier" candidate to defeat, for a multitude of reasons, that's not my main reason. Imagine how we/you will be ostracized when a gay man or a woman articulates positions with which you already disagree. The only reason you will be deemed to possibly disagree with such an intelligent and well-meaning individual will be because you are a homophobe (in the case of Buttigieg) or a misogynist (in the case of Warren).

Harken back to the days of the Obama administration. You know the time? It was the time where, irrespective of how long you held and believed in your positions, as soon as President Obama articulated the opposite position, you became a racist. After all, that was the only reason provided by Democrats for anybody disagreeing with the then President. I scratched my head and though to myself "self, didn't you disagree when Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, ad infinitum articulated these same positions?".

Bernie is my choice.

He is a self proclaimed Socialist and proud of it.

If the Democrats nominate a devout Socialist as their Presidential nominee, the Democrat Party will forever branded the Party of Socialism and the moniker Liberal will fade faster than fast.

The Democrat Party has governed under the Socialist agenda for decades, they, with the help of the Media were able to disguise it as liberalism.

Bernie is about to pull the curtain back and expose the DNC for what it really is and that scares the hell out of them. Bernie let the cat out of the bag and the Democrats are frantic on trying to put it back.

I completed a 34 year federal govt career during the Obama years. To say it was excruciating would be an understatement. Everything we did...every damn thing...centered around affirmative action. That was the primary focus. I'm not bigoted...I just want a level playing field for everyone. It just got old that this demographic, or that demographic, gets preferred treatment because they have a certain lifestyle or color. 99.9 percent of my coworkers, white, black, gay, straight felt the same way. The administration went so far overboard it was downright silly.

Me being a white male in middle management, well, I walked around with a bullseye painted on my chest all the time.

My best day at work was my last day when I left the office, drove 1531 miles, and killed a nice 6x6 bull.

When it came to Zero, there were no reasonable contradictory arguments.

It's not about "caring" about what others think of me. It's about what is articulated, erroneously, to the public at large. Why? Because a huge portion of voters in this country "buy" what is being "sold" in clips they hear on the radio or see on the T.V. So, it's not about me, it's about them.

Correct. It was only because his opponents were racists, nothing more, nothing less.

I would guess about 40% of the voting public is locked in on Trump - regardless of who the democrats nominate

and I would guess that collectively about 35% of the voting public is anti-Trump and will vote for whoever the democrats nominate

but where it gets tricky is how many democrats are going to be pissed off if Bernie doesn't get the nomination because the DNC doesn't want a socialist.

and we saw a similar thing play out with Trump and the RNC. Its actually a bit more civilized on the democratic side.

I'm actually more worried about Bernie than Buttigieg, because Buttigieg doesn't have anything going for him other than the LBGTQXYZ vote that at the end of the day is going to be about 4% at best. He's not giving away a bunch of free health care or student loans

That will not overcome the economic message of Trump which will push minorities to vote for Trump as well as blue collar voters in swing states.

Sanders on the other hand, well, people don't give a [bleep] about government debt - hell republicans don't and they're supposed to be the fiscally responsible ones. Bernie gets the nomination and offers cheap healthcare, free college education - and whatever else - there is going to be alot of people I'm afraid that buy into it, especially when Bernie gets more than just a few sound bites to talk about his vision in a debate.

I like it better when the democrat in the white house is blue instead of red. That way the red democrats in the Senate will fight gun control instead of going along because they all wear the same color jersey.

If you don't understand what that means you are the problem and part of why this country is screwed up past fixing.

The media would play the homophobe, toxic male, racist card to the hilt. Might even have some guilt vote.

Bernie is the worst of the worst and a nice beat down.

I think the Dems are stuck with Bernie this go around, they weaseled this idiot last go around. He is their Hindenberg disaster waiting to happen. Going to buy a lot of popcorn and will enjoy the show. Trump will have him admitted to an insane asylum before the election.

I remember thinking Bill Clinton would be the easiest to beat out of that field in '92. Skirt chasing draft dodger, how in the world could he ever get elected to be the Pres?

So my thought process may be flawed a bit.

But I think it's best for the good guys if Bernie gets screwed again by the DNC. As in The Bern gets the popular vote but The Butt gets the delegates.

The hardcore, flaked out Bern supporters get pissed cuz their man got jacked again and they "gonna lay around the shanty mama, and put a good buzz on."

Trust me, by the time we get to November, there WILL BE LITTLE "civility" amoungst the Dems.

About one Third of the Democrat electorate WILL BOYCOTT any candidate that gets nominated.

Why? Socialism vs Capitalism.

Which is the REAL ideological divide in the Democratic Party right now, thanks to Bernie Sanders.

If Bernie does NOT get the Dem nomination, the
" Bernie Bros" will either -

A) Not vote at all
B) Go third party
Or
C) Vote for Trump.

They will NOT "cuck out" as they put it ,and vote for a "sellout" Corporate Dem like Buttigieg ,Klobichar or Bloomberg. Especially not after 2016.

On the other hand ,if Bernie DOES get the nomination the establishment Wall street Dems will do the same thing against Sanders.

Either way ,we ARE going to watch the slow motion self-destruction of the Democratic party this year as they gradually form a circular firing squad and blame each other for Trump beating them once again.

And the biased liberal Press and the Democratic establishment will look JUST as incompetent and corrupt as they did in 2016.

Me too. Then came, Ross Perot. Well intentioned as he may have been, he is the reason for 8 years of W.J. Clinton.

Did conservatives trust McStain? Nope... Zero won!

Did conservatives trust Mitwit? Nope... Zero won!

Do conservatives trust Trump? Yepp... Mr. "Comb your hair with a balloon" looses.

its just way too early to be sure about anything

I do think we are at a point where the economy will hold up to the election

and that gives Trump his biggest bargaining chip.

but from the democrats, who knows - I just don't feel like anyone has a good pulse on the liberal side of the country.

We were talking brokered convention with Trump, Cruz and whoever in June of last the last election, only to see Trump win over a good portion of the base by November.
