Okay. 2 Quick questions.

I don't post much anymore but still read, family is more important so I.... well you know...
anyway young Arherhunter is now 12 and he received a new dart gun for Christmas. It's a 6 shooter wheel gun.

He spun the wheel with one dart and pointed it at his head. I started laughing and said "1 in 6 chance".

He pulled the trigger, then yelled "ouch!!"

That thing shoots pretty hard for a toy. I hear his little sis yell and the dog yelp so I already know. Not to mention what he's done to his Ma with it, lol.

I laughed and asked what's the odds of doing it again?
"I dunno dad. But here it goes!"

"He spins the wheel, pulls back the hammer, and shoots himself in the head a second time.
Now I'm really laughing.

So guess what he does next?
Yep, you guessed it. He Spun again but this time pointed it at me and pulledd the trigger.

Third time in a row first chamber had the dart.
And that damned thing has some cabin pressure.

Anyway, my questions are (because my math skills are limited) what is the odds of hitting a 1 in 6 chance 3 times in a row?
And, should I have AH Jr go buy a lottery ticket?

Well.....before I did any math, I'd take the toy gun away before somebody gets shot in the eye.

Balance of the wheel is stopping where dart is lined up. Not odds, gravity and toy design.

Thanks Mathman.
I figured you’d be looking in.

1/6 * 1/6 *1/6 = 1/216

The odds are very low, almost too low to be coincidence. I'm guessing that the way the cylinder is spun is the same each time, putting the loaded one at the top.

I thought of that, too.
Sorry for the delayed response. Been busy and don't often check in on this here campfire.

Christmas is now past.

The answer is nope. He's not ready for that.
Instead I got him "Primal Dreams".
The Wensel twins.
That right there is a hunting adventure worth watching... again and again and again.
That's what it's all about.

Howdy AH. Glad you are with us again.

I watched a movie called "Desolate" the other day. Not bad. SPOILERS In one scene, a Meth-Head is spouting off about The Deer Hunter and re-enacts the scene. Woops!
