Why not allow them to have turbans and beards based on religious beliefs? I was in from 1976 to 2018 and I’m certain I don’t see what it would hurt. I’m with Geno. Let the fighters be in the fight.
Them Sikhs have some serious fighting blood in their background. Be a shame to disallow service because of their religion.

Well dang,
If I wasn't retired and of a certain age I could serve now. Seeing as how I haven't seen my chin since 1979 and my hair has only been trimmed a few times since.
Them Sikhs have some serious fighting blood in their background. Be a shame to disallow service because of their religion.
Geno 100%. Get to know some Sikhs and their history and you’ll know why the kara (bracelet) serves dual purpose, and it’s no coincidence that the Sikh symbol has three swords plus a chakram, which is a circular weapon. I have a high regard for them. Yes, let them fight.

Beards, sideburns and long Mustaches were not allowed in the Navy until Adm. Zumwalt took over.
