About 16 years ago, my Dad stopped by the house on his way through headed to Idaho. I was going through a really bad stretch in life. In fact, a half hour before he arrived at the house, my wife at the time had just filed for divorce. I didn’t bring up that she filed with him - I wanted him to enjoy his evening with my daughters who thought the world of him. They were 5 and 6 at the time.
He told me to make every day count. Don’t piss them away. Drink good coffee. Drink good beer - but don’t drink too much. Enjoy my kids and life. Enjoy each sunrise. Because you only live about 30,000 days. I asked him where he got that number. He said easy. Math. 80 years times say 400 days per year. So figure 30,000. That’s 30,000 dinners. So don’t piss away life.
The next morning, he left my house and was killed about 5 hours later in a car crash.
I keep that lesson in mind each day. Sometimes I am forgetful.
I am inside my last 10,000 days.
The reason I post this is to just say don’t piss them away guys. Enjoy each one. Call an old friend. Fix those things in your life that are broke. Enjoy each sunset.
Just a reminder is all guys.
Have a great day.

Have a great day. Great story...

Ya, it was. And it didn’t get better the next day. Being the closest family member geographically to where he crashed, I had to go up there to get his belongings and sign papers at the funeral home. They didn’t know I was coming, so his body wasn’t quite in shape for me to see it. Which I did. And then had to retrieve his belongings from his truck. Had to climb inside that crushed and crumpled cab where he died to get stuff. Having had all that happen however tested my metal. I came through it and now feel I know what I am made of. I ain’t scared of anything this life can throw at me. Not anything.

Feels like twice as many
Your Age in Days Find out your age in days, weeks or months
Birth date: 1965-01-08 (Jan 8) Today's date: 2020-02-15 (Feb 15) You are 20126 days old. Which is 2875 weeks and 1 days.
That's 55 years and 38 days, including 13 leap days, or 55 years, 5 weeks and 3 days.
In other words, that's 661.25 months. Therefore, you are 55.104 years old.
You were born on a Friday, your last birthday was a Wednesday and your next one will be on a Friday.

My 73rd birthday is Tuesday upcoming. From that site:
You are 26660 days old.
Which is 3808 weeks and 4 days.
That's 72 years and 362 days, including 18 leap days, or 72 years, 51 weeks and 5 days.

You are 16907 days old. Which is 2415 weeks and 2 days.
That's 46 years and 106 days, including 11 leap days, or 46 years, 15 weeks and 1 days.
In other words, that's 555.5 months. Therefore, you are 46.29 years old.
Hope I make it to 80.....even better if I’m healthy.

That is some great advice. I didn’t value my life until I got about 50. I’ve learned to enjoy every day. Every day is a damned good day!!!!!!

Well today, one of my 30,000.....I’ll be fixing a terlot at one of my rental properties.
But....as the unchurched western campfire members say....I’d rather be think about God fixing a toilet then sittin in church thinking about fixing a toilet.
Or something like that
