I made some one year. Tapped some sugar maple trees in my yard, collected about a gallon of sap, and boiled it off on the stove.

Big mistake doing it inside, as it took forever, and there was so much moisture. Result wasn't as good as I thought it would have been, but I'm not a big fan of it anyway.

My ex-husband does. He makes the best dang syrup I have ever had, and is generous to a fault in supplying myself and the kids with syrup.

Fats- been buying Danny's for years. I'm not a maple syrup fanatic but it's unreal. Kinda like when people taste my raw unprocessed honey. Lightbulb moment...

Do it or I'll mail you some for a tryout....

Yes. Unlike any I have ever tried. Just grabbed a couple half gallons. Been replacing brown sugar with it in a few pork rub recipes for the smoker. Still fine tuning that but the results so far have been encouraging...

When I was a kid I made a batch of about 2 gallons. Took a long time and peeled the wallpaper off the kitchen! laugh

Wish I had the dollar value of today's syrup in the gallons of sap
I have carried. 3 or 4 years of my young life I spent most days from
December to April cutting wood, clearing roads, distributing buckets and spiles, tapping trees and carrying water. It was all fun, except carrying water.
Two big plastic buckets, back and forth to the tank wagon all day. Uphill, downhill, snow, mud. Really earned my $25/10 hr day, in 88-91.

Plus, all the warm syrup you wanted.

Hint, it will give you the schitz! blush

I've done it...……...….caveman style. Hand brace to do the holes. Pex tubing spiles. Lidded 5 gallon buckets for collectors. Did it on the stovetop. End product was AMAZING !!!!!!!

Never again.

Several years ago, I gave a buddy of mine carte blanche run of our 285 acres. We're covered up in good sized maple. He hangs tubing runs into 275 gallon collectors on trailers...…….has a sugar shack in his back yard with gas-fired evaporator pans......…..

Now I get free maple syrup by the quart jars and I just sit here.

Worked at a sugarbush off and on when I was in high school. Hard, but interesting work.
Our weather patterns are making it more difficult all the time. We had 2 different sets of warm weather in January. The local guys have learned to be ready for these events, so caught them, and have syrup for sale already.
Nothing quite takes its place, much like good honey.

Log cabin, like others, is “pancake syrup”.

Maple syrup is a different product.

I qts from Costco and it will last a year. Just don’t do much sugar.

Yes, sir. Darn good syrup! Best maple I have ever had. Unfortunately, I am now having some blood sugar issues and have to go very easy on such, but my wife loves it. I do still indulge with a little bit on occasion.
