My grandaddy told me he used to noodle catfish in the Rio Grande, at least until he latched onto one too big to handle and it damn near drowned him. He became a retired noodler on the spot.

I’ve done it and had fun. Have some buddies that are hardcore into it, catch monster flatheads and blues every year. But in the end I prefer the rod and reel, I just find it more fun than noodling, jugs, or trot lining.
