What would you recommend for a good heavy duty pant belt.

Something rugged enough to hold up your pants along with a knife, wallet, and whatever else you have heavy in your pockets. My regular jean belt does not seem heavy enough.

I've been using SUSPENDERS attached to my military style belt & pants.

You can move the straps off your shoulders to drop your pants for any reason....

The knife stays in place. It works for me.

1.5" wide,

thick, not thin leather

Sam Brown type belt

Leather can be eaten in an emergency.

Nylon, not so much.

This is an easy call.

ScenarShooter makes very nice belts (and slings): MontanaSlings.com

I have a couple of the belts. They're look good and are stout.

I use the 1.5" double thickness belts Filson makes, I have two of them and also a 1.25" version. I have had them for many years and they have carried my 1911 Govt. Mod. and N frame S&W with out sagging.

I also often wear a pair of suspenders when hunting. The fasteners hook on to the belt loops and stay put, unlike the kind that clamp down on the pants waist material.

Gun belt will work. They are stiff enough for CCW.

The whole "tactical" thing may be a bit of a wank, but I actually do like my 5.11 Operator belt for hunting, and as a jeans belt. It is 1 3/4" wide, double thickness and quite stiff, so it holds its shape and spreads the load a bit better than narrower belts, and doesn't sag or get out of shape if I hang stuff off it either. It also can be adjusted snugly, without needing holes, and it is very comfortable. The free end stays put too, with velcro, rather than flapping around. I've had it for several years, and it seems very durable.

Maybe the noise of Velcro separating is nothing to worry about, but I prefer to not have it on hunting gear.

Another vote for Hank's. Check out their Gun Belts.

I’m currently wearing a Versacarry. Double ply water buffalo. It’s stout. Dad and bro in law both have the previously mentioned Montana Rifle Sling belts and they’re good as well.

I use a smoke jumper's belt for heavy duty carry it's double layer heavy duty nylon stiff enough to carry a load with a rugged steel buckle. A 5.11 web belt for general field ware when not toting lots of gear.

Occidental leather belts are the best I've found. They are the same guys that make carpenter tool and nail bags. Other than changing color, my every day/8 year old belt still looks new.

1.5" or 2" wide.

Same here. He makes great belts and suspenders can bite into the belt well too. His belts are about all I wear.

I wear two belts. One for my pants and another longer/heavier "tool belt" of sort for my knife, cartridges and whatever else I carry. It's a far better system than everything on one belt.
