Hello all.

Looking at taking the boy (14) on a overnight fishing / camping river this this mid October. Looking at the James in VA (having been there years before and enjoyed it) but am certainly open to suggestions. The plan is to leave Atlanta on day 1 and stay / camp near river, shuttle up river the next morning, float and camp, then off the river by dark the next day.

Any suggestions? Rivers are a better choice since we both like them more than lakes.

Thanks for your help,

PigGuy

Are other rivers a possibility, or the James the only one acceptable?

Some spelling errors can be corrected by a vowel movement.

Go up to the New River in WV for a good experience

The James, Ive floated and fished many times, is a good second bet.

Watch "Deliverance" before you go. Burt (Louis in the movie) and the guys went out of Atlanta too if I remember correctly.

Seen it many times, and one day will let the boy see it as well (not yet!).

I'll leave my bow at home but will have a Hellcat in my waistband.
