I use the Aerotip or Hollow point 348 gr Powerbelt in my TC Impact and used the same bullet in my older TC Black Diamond. At someone's suggestion on here, I take a 17 cal pellet and press it into the HP with skirt down. If using Aerotip,I remove the plastic tip as then it is the same bullet as the HP.

I have killed 6-7 cow elk with it, no problems.

With the Impact, I load 90 gr of BH209, but dropped it down to 80 because of my replaced shoulder. It still shoots great and I have killed two elk with that load. With the Black Diamond, I can't use BH209 so I used 90 gr of 777

With Powerbelts, you don't want to drive them too fast or they will flatten like a 50 cent piece. At least that has been my experience with either rifle, I have never had accuracy problems shooting any Powerbelt

Thanks for the reply. I've heard about the pellet trick. You wonder why PB doesn't offer a flat point version of that bullet.

I noticed that the Platinum bullet is recommended for magnum loads. Not sure what makes it suitable for that other than the plating. If that really makes it tougher? So I thought I'd ask
