Type it in again and we’ll give it a go. All I shoot in my handguns is home cast, except for 380 and 9mm. All I shoot in my rifles is jacketed, period.

Started it yesterday, simply inquiring about if I was the only one around here that loads jacketed bullets exclusively, for handguns.

Now today, the thread is completely gone?

Your thread went bye bye yesterday when the server crashed. So did a lot of others.
Jacketed bullets are for rifles and serious handgun work only. Plinking gets hard cast for 380, 9 mm, 38/357, 41 mag and 45ACP. No reason to waste a 20-30 cent bullet when an 8 cent bullet works just as well.

I use very few jacketed bullets in handguns. Most of my handguns have never seen one. I have probably 5 or six rifles that also get just lead.

Serious handgun work definitely does not see any jacketed either, besides one carry gun, for superflous reasons.
Id be perfectly happy to stoke it with cast as well.

I have one 1911 that shoots jacketed bullets very well but keyholes cast bullets. It's the only one of my 1911's that does that. May have to try some plated bullets.

I think I lied a bit here. If I get a little leading in my handguns from shooting cast bullets, I’ll run a couple of jacketed thru to clean out the lead.

In my carry gun's, both 9mm, I use jacketed but cast to practice with. In my other CF handguns all I've shot for a lot of years is cast. Started using cast to control recoil in a 357 mg. Hate recoil especially in a handgun. Worked up a cast load for my 30-06 and 308. Just the 308 now though. Some day want to hunt deer with it! The 30-06 has become my elk rifle and shoot's only 180gr jacketed bullet's.

I shoot jacketed in the carry guns, plated for practice and cast in hunting handguns.
Rainer plated HP were great in the 9mm . I'll have to try Xtreme or Berry's..

Cast, if the application is right - jacketed otherwise.

My 45-70 does everything I need just fine with cast. My other rifles, (smaller calibers), use jacketed unless I am making plinkers.

All my handguns are reloaded with cast (stock Glock barrels included).

There is a bit of a learning curve with cast, but it is worth it IMO.

Cast or swaged in my target .45acp pistols. Plated or jackets for 9mm so far. Thinking about building a .38 super with a fast twist for low pressure target loads with lead bullets, need another time sink....

Depends on if you lick your fingers when loading...

Or shoot indoors...
