Have a deal in the works, but that name set off my spyder senses. Is that one of the alias scamming people? The deal is RIGHT on the border. It’s solid, but I’ve seen the price before. Everything appears to check out.

I got a similar PM to my WTB add with his address that looked like spam for sure. I deleted it.

vbrass1 Also sent me a PM to my WTB ad wanted me to contact him through email. The guy just joined a few days ago and has no posts. Most likely a scammer. I did not respond.

i won`t buy from any new member with a joined date ,it should be a couple of years on joined date. i realize new members don`t like that but i almost lost a large amount of money to a scammer but the post office law enforcement caught him and save my money and he went to jail. safe is better than sorry good luck,Pete53

It is a well known scam. Pm from new member, wants to take conversation to email. Has just what you are WTB, at a killer price. They will not post publicly in your ad like a member would. They will not talk on the phone. But people keep falling for that great deal that is too good to be true. If you fall for it, 💋 your 💰 goodbye.

Yup, same thing happened to me the other day. vbrass1 send me a PM telling me to email Tom Mattingly on a WTB ad. Tom Mattingly sends me pic's of what I want at a "too good to be true" price.

Well, he accepts PayPal, so my CC would have given me a refund instantly. So, money would be recouped. Not worth the hassle. $440 for a Savage 99E is about market based on what I’ve been seeing, so it wasn’t too good to be true.
