Went to Cabelas this morning and bought my wife the S&W M&P .22 Compact. When we got home went out to the son’s house and she shot it - again and again and again.

Salesman Thursday tried to talk her into the S&W .380 EZ but it was just too big in her hands - which are about the size of a 10 year old. Even with her arthritis she can function the safety and the trigger with ease.

It was hitting a bit low with the 1070 fps bullets but when I can get some CCI Stingers I'll take it to the pistol range where I get rest my hands on a shelf to get it sighted in. It has an adjustable rear sight.

Momma is happy . . .

Good! We just finished laughing our butts off. Wife was working in the garden with our 2 year old daughter. Kiddo carefully started pouring water down mommas butt crack while she was digging. "Funny, funny, funny" is what she said after. Cold water made it all the funnier!

Stingers are longer than a 22LR, and cause problems in a lot of guns.
Try some Remington Vipers. They use a solid truncated cone bullet for better penetration.

Good deal, they make snap caps designed for use in rimfires. Using these will allow her to prepare w/o fear in a realistic manner. Use some photo realistic targets during training so she can visualize the affect and get used to firing multiple rounds rather than shoot and assess.

Good idea to locktite the little rear sight adjustment screw. We lost one. Dinky screw, sight and spring. Very reliable.

I have the High Standard Mk IV with a 4 inch barrel. It holds 9 shots of .22 magnum. Great tool bag gun.

I've had one of those Smiths for about 3 years, I picked it up at Whittaker's one day, on a whim. I'm glad I did, I've killed several coons with it, and it's fun to shoot. It's almost too light, but it sure is fun to carry with that light weight. I shoot a lot of rimfire these days, and when I find some ammo my rifles do NOT like, I put it aside for the pistols. So far, I've had no malfunctions I could blame on the pistol. They are a pretty good little pistol, but spare magazines are sometimes a challenge to find.
