What is the eye relief on that tube? Looks like the eyepiece is sitting a little too far back for comfort.
It doesn't have great eye relief. Maybe 2-1/2" or so, but that's a guess. It's not a problem with light bullets/charges, but can get a little frisky with heavy stuff. It was designed for and equipped as a fast twist (16") picket rifle. That uses a cross patched bullet of about 490 grains that looks a fair bit like a guitar pick in profile. I've loaded and shot it with charges up to 90 grains of Swiss 1.5 FG without issue. Dot the X load is 60 grains. It handles 650 grain bullets OK, but it ain't casual shooting.
The stock is short to be sure, but I crafted an extension that inserts into the buttplate secured with a leather cover. Gives it a LOP of about 14".
Here's some of the Yankee dogs with similar rifles.
