God created the nation of Israel, according to scripture. Israel is the only nation specifically created by God with a special covenant. Israel is both a land and a people.

“7 I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.
8 The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.” Gen 17:7-8

Israel is God’s prophetic stopwatch and supersign.

The Balfour Declaration of 1917 occurred during a jubilee year and allowed Jews to migrate back to their land after the liberation from the Ottoman Turks.

And 50 years later in 1967, another jubilee year, saw more liberation for Jerusalem with more land back.

And 50 years later in 2017, Jerusalem was recognized as Israel’s capital.
