OP splattermatic Campfire Outfitter Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 8,517 n.w. new mexico	My wife tagged me in a fb post about a recipe for old fashion custard pie, so I took it as a , hint, hint. I actually like to cook, so I looked over the recipe, and got to work. I didn't do a crust from scratch, but bought a 2 pack of pre made. Instead of having a crust hanging around waiting for a later date, I made 2 ! They turned out awesome.... My wife owes me big time !! Big grin !!

Along the line somebody told Her that there was a danger bringing those to various socials, so She quit making those and started making " Chess pies". They were very similar but the egg custard was better. Not sure of the danger and whether it was real or not, as the egg custard was cooked and not raw eggs. Anyway, I like custard pies. miles Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.
