Is anyone shooting a factory Remington 700 ADL or SPS in 6.5 Creedmoor? What's your overall impression and how is it performing? I have been considering an ADL. I am surprised they don't offer it in SS. I have also considered the SS 243 ADL. I don't need either, but just something to do. Thanks for any input.

I've got one. Started out life as an ADL, and I added BDL metal and another stock. Shoots just like all the rest of my Remington's.........very accurately. Mine shot just about everything I tried in it pretty good, but I eventually settled for a 140 NBT for deer hunting. Killed a nice buck at 200 yards.

I wish they made a 6.5 in the SS version, and considering the popularity of the cartridge, can't figure out why they don't. Of course, that's Remington for you.

I have TWO 700s in 6.5 Creedmoor, an ADL and an ADL style varmint rifle..

They are OK, but I don't like them as well as the Howa 1500s, Rugers, or Vanguard2s. I recently bought a stainless HOWA 1500 for $405 via GB, but I strongly dislike the Hogue stocks that come on them, so, for me, there is the additional expense of swapping stocks.

My first 6.5 CM was a Howa. Very good shooting rifle, but I hated that dang Hogue stock. Just didn't fit it right, and was too clunky feeling. Put a Weatherby stock on it, and it was better, but the rifle was still a little too heavy for my liking. I sold it, and bought a 700 ADL in 6.5. Guy who bought it called and said his brother wanted a Creedmoor like his, so I sold him the 700, and bought another one. I've had 3 rifles for the 6.5CM, and all were good enough shooters to hunt with. It's all a matter of finding which load your rifle likes.

I have 15 6.5 Creedmoors and all are good shooters, even the Mossberg Patriot and the Savsge Axis.

I'm not a fan of Remington's injection molded stocks, so I'd be swapping those stock out too if I listed the rifles better. I agree that the Howas and Vanguards are a little heavy, but they are good straight out of the box and typically require less tinkering than most Remingtons.

For a moderately priced 6.5cm, can’t go wrong with tikka t3x light. Some online dealers are selling for about 470. Great barrel and action. Plastic stock is ok.

The fact that Remington does not offer the Creedmoor in the stainless 700 is one of those confirmations that the company is being poorly run. The "bean counters" can't even count their beans well anymore.

You wouldn't go wrong having an ADL SS in 243.

I agree on the lack of the SS 700 in 6.5CM, as they are missing the boat badly. Buds Guns has the ADL SS combo rifles for about $535 in standard calibers, including .243win. The scopes bring about $35, so the rifles are effectively $500. I have one in .243 that I cut back to 21.5 and it lives in my pickup. Shoots the 105 Hornady HPBT very well at 3,000fps.

All due respect J Pro ,but Remington has never been on the "boat" ,doesn't know what a boat is, and just flies along in a make believe space ships that occaisionally coincides with what people want. Yes I own more than a few of them that I will have till I die, but ever since ET(the movie) I came to realize that Remington Management is made up of visiting extra terrestrials. MB

I'll agree with you on that notion for sure. They often leave me scratching my head.
