Have read that the only way to defeat Trump was to crash the economy.

If the left wants to crash the economy, they will.

All it takes is for the Federal Reserve to kick up interest rates.

I'm missing something here, as I don't watch much news.

What is it that you're seeing rockinbbar?

All I know it that virus crap is doing some damage for sure. Folks that own companies that sell stuff manufactured in China are in a world of hurt. Today's business methods, with right on time manufacturing and such, don't allow for much inventory in stock.

For example, my hockey news website put out a story a week or so back. Bauer and CCM, two of the biggest players in the hockey eqpt business are not able to get the new hi tech sticks the NHL players are using nowadays. Players go through many, some nearly 100 a season they say. Yet they only keep a couple of dozen handy at a time.

Not saying they're not, as it would be a great tactic to change the complexion of the upcoming election, but what are the Dems actually doing to harm the economy? Any more than usual let's say.

Think I have said this before...
The only way they can change the system is to break it....

They painted themselves into a corner with their 2a position, as armed insurrection is the only proven way to implement socialism...

The democrats are taking advantage of the corona virus BS, and adding to the panic, as far as finances, etc.

Chuck U. Scummer was on TV this morning doing his part.

The corona virus chaos is temporary. Breaks in production will resume, or other sources will supply goods. I think things will be delayed or shifted, but over time not real loss.
Medical stocks should be up, face masks sold out, etc. So there are positive financial outcomes, even in a crisis.

Thanks B,

I was just wondering if they were doing something specific, as in new legislation or as Bristoe mentioned, playing with the interest rates.

I didn't watch this morning, but I'm sure it's just Chuckie talking out the side of his mouth deriding the current regime. It's about all they can do.

I'll keep my eye out for tonight's news.

"over time" is killing us older investors with very moderate resources! There's not much "over time" left for many of us who need income from investments to get by.

Terry,

sure enough if an item is in high enough demand, production will be delayed or shifted as you say. It's unfortunate that it just may be a "real loss" to smaller companies that can't handle the delays or that don't have the capital to shift production (tooling and machinery for example) to other locations.

If anyone is privy to the news, how is this production slow down impacting major US industries that rely on parts from over there? Auto, appliances, etc.

Exactly,

not to mention the effect on smaller companies.

I've no doubt the Dems are doing their worst.

As for China, I ordered 3 air filters for my motorcycle on Feb 02, yesterday the chicoms refunded my money out of the blue.

I see you point and I agree. So there will be some losses that is for sure.
Being optimistic, I was hoping maybe US sourcing of parts, and that may establish a longer term US market.
My opinion is that china goods have a net negative impact on the US dollar. US goods enhance dollar value, so alternate US sourcing may be better in the long run?
Maybe increased value to med stocks to off set some manufacturing loss?
So I don't see a world wide crash unless there is a new black plague. Again my optimistic speculation. I see dips, loss and gain. I don't think the total magnitude is a crash.
Personally I was going to increase my monthly allocation % to stock, but I am leaving that allocation in low yield safe securities. So the virus impacted my investment allocation away from SP100 fund. But I am confident that I don't have to transfer any current SP100 holdings to securities. I'll letting the stock investment ride. That is my 401K guess. I have zero training in markets outside of college economics propaganda many years ago, so I have zero credibility.

I read something yesterday that normally the market will recover fully in 6 months to a year once the threat of a pandemic is over. This was based on previous outbreaks like Zika and Ebola that caused the market to worry.

No place in America for communist socialist democrats any more: The left, democrats, liberals, communist, socialist, hollywood, snowflakes, the media, and islamites they want power and control of the people. They hate Americans, the Constitution, and the USA. They are voting to destroy jobs, health care and health care jobs, they for socialist communism, destroying the unborn and the just born, they are destroying prisons, and they want to destroy all the energy sector jobs. They want to band all weapons. They are for open borders. They want very high 90% taxes to give free education, free food, free health care, and free housing to illegals or anyone too lazy to work.. They wish to destroy the constitution and replace it some UN proposed crap.
